The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Matsumoto controls from within his opponent's guard.
Matsumoto's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Matsumoto passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bayushi takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Matsumoto lands an elbow.
Bayushi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Matsumoto seems to be working for a kimura but Bayushi defends the submission attempt.

Matsumoto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bayushi defends it well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Matsumoto connects with a nice short shot to Bayushi's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bayushi turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Matsumoto off and cradles Bayushi's limp body as Matsumoto celebrates with his corner.
