These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blunt throws a right and a left that Slade avoids nicely.
Blunt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Blunt throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Slade misses the shot to the body.
Slade throws a body punch but Blunt moves out of range.
Slade circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blunt dodges the punch combination from Slade.
Blunt cracks the inside of Slade's front leg.
Blunt wants to clinch up but Slade keeps it at a distance.
Slade swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Slade bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Blunt's head backwards.
The fighters circling - Slade throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Blunt throws a series of punches but Slade avoids them all with ease.
Blunt lands with a kick to the temple. Slade shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Slade throws a hook to the side of Blunt's head but Blunt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Slade scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
John Slade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slade throws a jab but it's blocked by Blunt.
Slade connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Blunt momentarily.
Slade lands a nice hook to Blunt's body. Blunt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
