Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russ Reaper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Richter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Russ Reaper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Richter! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reaper shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Richter as he avoids it easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Reaper. Richter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reaper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Richter manages to get back to half guard. Richter works his way to full guard. Good work. Richter lands a decent punch to the body there. Richter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reaper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Reaper with a flurry of punches that miss. Richter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Reaper! Richter breaks from Reaper's wrist control and lands an elbow.
It looks like Russ Reaper has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Richter moves to the back position. Reaper can't escape the position.
Richter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Reaper defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reaper breaks Richter's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Reaper with a nice head shot there. Richter working for a triangle but Reaper defends it easily.
Richter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reaper's guard. Richter looks gassed! Reaper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Richter defends it easily. Richter drops back looking for a leg! Reaper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reaper manages to kick Richter off! Richter jumps back into Reaper's guard. Richter works over Reaper with some ground and pound from guard. Reaper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reaper throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Reaper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Richter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richter stands up and waves to Reaper to follow him. Richter has taken the fight to the clinch.

Reaper is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Richter pulls him back up using the underhooks. Richter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reaper fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Reaper dives in and grabs Richter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Richter pushes down on Reaper's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russ Reaper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Richter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Richter is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Reaper is trying to escape and Richter transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Reaper is forced to tap! Nice work there by Richter! Very nice indeed!
