Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yusuf Amir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and king kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yusuf Amir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, king kong! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amir shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. kong defends it nicely. Amir looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Amir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. kong tries to avoid it but Amir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag kong to the ground. kong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. kong moves into range and connects with a jab. kong tries to bum rush Amir with a series of wild strikes but Amir uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Amir shoots for a double leg takedown but kong sprawls well. He's pushed Amir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yusuf Amir. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for kong with that takedown attempt. kong closes the distance and clinches up with Amir, looking for a takedown. kong pushes Amir against the cage but Amir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. kong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. kong wants to clinch up but Amir keeps it at a distance. kong with a lazy takedown attempt so Amir counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. kong looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. kong looking for a sweep. Not yet kong, not yet. kong scrambles and gets back to his feet.
kong moves into the clinch successfully.
kong pulls guard. Amir preventing the sweep. kong trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if kong can do anything to dispel that myth. kong wants to stand up but Amir is controlling him. kong looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. kong wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. kong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amir tries to avoid it but kong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amir to the ground. Amir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. kong throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Amir stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. king kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. kong fails with a takedown attempt. kong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Amir napping and manages to drive through into side control! The strikes coming from kong are missing the target in this wave of attacks. kong postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. kong throws a strike aimed at the side of Amir's head but Amir avoids it well. kong trying to control the position but Amir is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. kong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Amir avoids any damage from the ground and pound of kong.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. kong trying to control the position but Amir is working away. Amir parries the strikes from kong easily there. kong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Amir to escape.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - kong looks like he's thinking about clinching though. kong throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Amir was covering up waiting for the punch and kong finishes the takedown easily into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
king kong dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
kong throws a right hand that Amir ducks under and follows up with a left that Amir also avoids with ease. kong tries to clinch but Amir is having none of it. Amir slaps away a takedown attempt from kong, before circling back to the center of the mat. kong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. kong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amir keeps working. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. kong is looking to advance position but Amir won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. kong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. kong wants to control but Amir is keeping him busy. kong wants to stand but Amir has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. kong missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. kong thows a huge punch but Amir dodges it nicely.
kong is keen to just control but Amir is a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. kong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
king kong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. kong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Amir is not in a great position here, taking some shots. kong trying to control the action but Amir is working from the bottom. kong tries to move into full mount but can't pass Amir's legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amir struggling a bit here. kong tries to get to his feet but Amir is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with kong in his guard. kong trying to control but Amir is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. kong in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! kong throwing strikes from guard but Amir blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
king kong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
kong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. kong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Amir paws at him with a jab and circles away. kong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amir is fending him off so far but kong persists. Nope, Amir circles away and we're back to standing. kong is looking to clinch but Amir is avoiding it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amir circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by kong!
Amir defends well against a solid takedown attempt from kong. Yusuf Amir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of king kong.
That's one minute gone in the round. kong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Amir sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten kong somewhat. kong shoots in and bounces Amir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Amir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. kong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Amir dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. kong keeping moving, preventing Amir from controlling successfully. Amir with a flurry of punches that miss. Amir stopping the sweep attempt from kong. kong uses the cage to get back to his feet.
kong fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. kong tries to clinch up but Amir circles away and keeps his distance. kong scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. kong tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. kong trying to control the action but Amir is working from the bottom. kong tries to stand but Amir is controlling his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. kong throws an elbow but Amir slips to the side and avoids it well. kong wants to control but Amir is keeping him busy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Amir tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but kong wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that's the end of the fight! king kong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well kong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
