Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Lawson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chase feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Chase bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Chase drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chase jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lawson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chase gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chase drops back looking for a leg! Lawson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lawson manages to kick Chase off! Chase jumps back into Lawson's guard.

Chase has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Chase sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lawson's guard.

Lawson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chase can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Lawson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Chase is defending well though. Lawson let's go of the attempt for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lawson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chase is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lawson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chase's back instead.
