The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Maxi Mord has been cut.
Faria fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mord is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mord throws a left and a right that both miss

and Faria counters with a crisp one two that drops Mord! Faria thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Mord to his feet! Mord is in big trouble!

Faria works Mord's body with a nice hook.
Mord is still on wobbly legs! Can Faria finish him?
Maxi Mord seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mord has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mord is pushing Faria up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Mord has had enough of the clinch but Faria keeps him there for the moment.
Mord seems to have recovered his senses.
Mord is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mord takes a knee to the side of the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A frustrated look appears on Mord's face as he tries to break the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Faria successfully pulls guard.
Mord wanted to stand there but Faria had control of the position.

Faria has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mord off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Faria moves out of range as Mord throws a body kick.
Mord throws a shot from downtown. Faria moves away and avoids it.
Faria connects with a right hand. Mord shakes it off.

That has opened up Maxi Mord's cut even more.
Faria throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mord counters with a series of strikes. Faria will be more careful next time no doubt.
Faria tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Maxi Mord is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab from Faria does it's job there.
Faria tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mord swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Faria cracks the inside of Mord's front leg.
Faria throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mord stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mord seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Faria shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Mord is backing up but Faria catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Mord covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Faria Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
