Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and R J MacReady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hunter Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, R J MacReady!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacReady connects with a nice looking jab.
It looks like Hunter Thompson has been cut.
MacReady scoring well with a low kick there.
Thompson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
MacReady drops Thompson with a right and a left! MacReady comes rushing in but Thompson regains his composure and manages to keep MacReady in guard.
MacReady with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Thompson keeping moving, preventing MacReady from controlling successfully.
MacReady has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
MacReady is looking to stand up but Thompson won't let him.
Thompson looking to control.
MacReady wants to pass the guard but Thompson is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from MacReady.
Thompson has MacReady pulled in close to control his posture.
MacReady wants to control from the top but Thompson keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Thompson throws a leg kick
enabling MacReady to counter with a crisp jab.
MacReady closes the distance and clinches up with Thompson, looking for a takedown. MacReady pushes Thompson against the cage but Thompson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
MacReady fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thompson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Thompson tries to clinch but MacReady moves away
and MacReady counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Thompson is breathing heavily.
MacReady lands a slapping body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
MacReady cracks Thompson with an uppercut from hell and Thompson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of MacReady's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Thompson is rocked!
MacReady arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Thompson's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). R J MacReady!
