Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Sadona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dillinger Escape Plan - 43% Burnt. Amir Sadona has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sadona tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sadona looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well. Jones scores a takedown into full mount! Jones landing shots from mount. Jones looking to ground and pound but Sadona is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Jones lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Sadona tries to hold on but Jones postures up. Sadona avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jones.
Jones is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sadona can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones prevents Sadona from getting the reversal. Jones working the ground and pound effectively.
Sadona is trying to escape the mount.
Jones lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sadona hang on? Sadona looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Sadona tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jones is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sadona can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sadona is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Sadona is defending well. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones in side control, throwing shots but Sadona defends. Jones throwing strikes but Sadona manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Sadona controlling the position from side mount. Sadona landing a few strikes. Sadona trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sadona wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sadona trying to control the position but Jones is working away. Sadona is trying to ground and pound but Jones uses the momentary lack of control by Sadona to regain half guard. Sadona is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work. Sadona takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carl Jones dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sadona napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sadona tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jones working away. Jones lands a nice forearm strike. Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Sadona is defending well. Jones working the ground and pound. The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Sadona trying to control but Jones flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Jones gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Sadona trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Sadona rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jonesis looking to pass into half guard but Sadona pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sadona is in guard. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sadona pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sadona not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Sadona must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sadona wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. Sadona wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jones is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sadona keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Sadona bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sadona can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sadona slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sadona stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sadona misses with a takedown attempt and Jones counters with a nice body kick. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sadona swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones looks for the body kick but Sadona saw that one coming. Sadona tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Jones bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sadona is trying to trip Jones. He has hold of a leg but Jones is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sadona persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sadona tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Sadona blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones. Sadona gets back to full guard.

Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sadona looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sadona looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sadona! Sadona gets to mount! Jones was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones is desperately trying to improve his position but Sadona has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Jones is looking to get to half guard. Sadona controlling the position easily from mount. Sadona trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Sadona is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sadona tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Amir Sadona just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Sadona is looking to clinch. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Sadona wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
