Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Ledfoot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Balcita! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balcita walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ledfoot checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. A low kick from Ledfoot misses and Balcita counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Joe Ledfoot has been cut. Ledfoot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Balcita is looking to improve his position.
Ledfoot seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Balcita is trying to get back to full guard. Ledfoot stalling. Balcita trying to hold on to Ledfoot's head to control him but Ledfoot postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ledfoot wants to pass to mount but Balcita is defending the position. Balcita is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ledfoot moves out of range of the body kick. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Balcita doesn't manage to clinch there - Ledfoot circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ledfoot scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Balcita throws a lazy right hand but Ledfoot sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ledfoot shoots and misses and Balcita counters by clinching up. Ledfoot is trying to trip Balcita. He has hold of a leg but Balcita is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ledfoot persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Balcita wants to get back to his feet but Ledfoot is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ledfoot stays in close to Balcita's body and controls the position. Balcita is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ledfoot is controlling him. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balcita can do anything to dispel that myth. Balcita controls Ledfoot momentarily but Ledfoot frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ledfoot stops Balcita from standing up. Ledfoot seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Balcita is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Balcita controls Ledfoot momentarily but Ledfoot frees himself.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ledfoot moves out of range as Balcita throws a body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Balcita fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ledfoot scores with a takedown into Balcita's guard. Balcita looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Balcita isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ledfoot stacks Balcita on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ledfoot! Balcita looks gassed! Balcita can't do much from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ledfoot closes the distance and clinches up with Balcita, looking for a takedown. Ledfoot pushes Balcita against the cage but Balcita circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nice defenses there by Ledfoot. Balcita fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ledfoot looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Ledfoot misses with a takedown attempt and Balcita counters with a lovely straight right hand! Joe Ledfoot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Balcita misses with a wild body shot. Ledfoot tries for a takedown but Balcita circles away easily and Balcita counters into the clinch. Nicely done. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Ledfoot. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balcita has Ledfoot pushed against the cage. Balcita continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Ledfoot looking for a takedown. Balcita scores with a shoulder strike. Ledfoot goes for a takedown in the clinch but Balcita prevents it.
Balcita lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. A short left from Balcita. Balcita prevents Ledfoot from breaking the clinch. Balcita lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Still in the clinch, Balcita scores with a nice short uppercut. Balcita pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ledfoot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Balcita's waist but Balcita gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ledfoot off to one side. Balcita throws the left hand but Ledfoot avoids the punch easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ledfoot shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Balcita trying to control from the bottom.
Balcita is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ledfoot's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ledfoot's back! Balcita has good solid back control here. Will Balcita go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Ledfoot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balcita keeping moving, preventing Ledfoot from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Balcita throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ledfoot looks to score with a jab to the body but Balcita is just out of range. Balcita misses with a body shot.
Ledfoot throws a head kick that misses. Balcita's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Balcita duly obliges. Balcita pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Balcita showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Joe Ledfoot's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Ledfoot is rocked! Balcita wants to get up but he can't break Ledfoot's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Balcita must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Balcita stopping the sweep attempt from Ledfoot. Balcita wants to control from the top but Ledfoot keeps moving. Ledfoot looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balcita won't allow Ledfoot to sweep him here. Balcita sitting in guard here, content to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ledfoot doesn't succeed with the takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Balcita explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Ledfoot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Balcita swivels and escapes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balcita bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Balcita fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ledfoot is out of range. Jay Balcita seems to be getting the better of the standup. Balcita lands a nice hook to Ledfoot's body. Ledfoot takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nice combo by Balcita! Oh, that's hurt him - Ledfoot falls to the canvas and Balcita follows him into side control. Oh Ledfoot is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Balcita stands up and we're back to a striking position. Balcita takes the fight into the clinch. Ledfoot seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ledfoot takes a knee to the side of the body. Balcita works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

and Ledfoot counters with a takedown into side control. Ledfoot moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Balcita is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ledfoot asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Balcita is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Balcita can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Balcita prevents Ledfoot from moving into mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Jay Balcita comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Balcita has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
