The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Theodore stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Theodore wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Theodore as St Pierre shoots in.
St Pierre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

St Pierre closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Theodore did well to prevent St Pierre getting side control.
Theodore is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St Pierre works his foot free and advances to mount.

St Pierre has hold of Theodore's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Theodore manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Theodore tries to hold on but St Pierre pushes him away.

St Pierre wants to finish this one by submission but Theodore is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from St Pierre.
Theodore is looking to get to half guard.
Theodore is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Theodore wants to control but St Pierre is having none of it.
Theodore is looking to improve his position but St Pierre isn't that keen on the idea.
St Pierre is looking to work his way around to Theodore's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
St Pierre lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

St Pierre is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Theodore is surviving well by controlling St Pierre's body position as best he can.
