Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Da Spyder Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Denis Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Da Spyder Grove!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grove is looking to clinch.
Grove shoots in for a double leg but Kang sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Grove shoots in but Kang avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Grove is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kang wants to free his trapped foot but Grove is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Grove is trying to get back to full guard.
Grove wants to stand back up but Kang manages to pass into side control.

Grove looks to move to half guard but instead Kang has passed into mount! Damn!

Grove tries to hold on but Kang postures up.
Kang looking to control and managing it successfully.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grove for as long as he can get away with.
Grove rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Kang stops Grove from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Grove trying to hold on to Kang's head to control him but Kang postures up.
Grove wants to control but Kang passes into side.
Grove is looking for a sweep.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Grove is not content to let Kang control the position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Grove shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Grove won't be happy with that.
Kang wants to control but Grove is keeping him busy.
Kang tries to move to mount but Grove blocks the move with his legs.
Grove seems a little lost for a moment, as Kang dominates the positioning.
Grove tries to improve position but can't.

Grove is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grove struggling a bit here.
Grove looks to move to half guard but instead Kang has passed into mount! Damn!
Kang trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Grove tries to hold on but Kang pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Grove is trying to stand up.
Grove wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Kang is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Kang doesn't have the hooks in and Grove manages to turn into his guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Denis Kang just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Kang counters with a single leg into guard. Grove didn't expect that.

Grove is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Grove wants to control but Kang is keeping busy.
Kang is tying to control. Grove wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kang is thwarting Grove's attempts to control the position.
Grove looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kang shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Grove wants to get back to his feet.
Grove is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Kang dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Kang scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Grove tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Grove tries to roll but Kang sticks to his back.
Grove breaks Kang's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Grove wanted to stand there but Kang had control of the position.
Grove trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Kang manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kang is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Grove keeping busy on the bottom but Kang has passed one foot through into half guard.
Kang is taking a breather. Grove says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kang prevents Grove from improving his position.

Grove tries to kick Kang off in order to stand up. Kang Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Grove tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Grove's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grove looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Denis Kang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Grove moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grove is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Da Spyder Grove has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kang pushes down on Grove's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kang controlling the action here.

Grove looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Kang pushes past his half guard into mount!

And that's the end of the fight!
Denis Kang showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
