Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spike Spiegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike McKinley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike McKinley!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKinley leaves Spiegel with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Spiegel takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Horrible takedown by Spiegel or perhaps it was just good defense by McKinley which made him look bad.
Spiegel on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
McKinley thuds his shin into the meat of Spiegel's side.
McKinley lands a nice looking body shot.
Spiegel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McKinley as he jumps to the side.

McKinley throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Spiegel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McKinley's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Spiegel shoots for a double leg takedown but McKinley sprawls well. He's pushed Spiegel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Spiegel takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
McKinley lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McKinley.

Spike Spiegel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McKinley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Spiegel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Spiegel is trying to work for a kimura but McKinley is defending well.

Spiegel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McKinley is just riding it out for now. Spiegel eventually gives up the hold.

Spiegel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McKinley's head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McKinley can do anything to dispel that myth.

Spiegel is looking for a kimura but McKinley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Spiegel to get the leverage.
McKinley is looking to escape.
Spiegel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McKinley tries to roll over but Spiegel keeps him under control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McKinley throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Spiegel's head.
Spiegel shoots in for a takedown but McKinley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Spiegel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McKinley sprawls well. McKinley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Spiegel gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McKinley lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McKinley.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spiegel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McKinley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Spiegel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear McKinley down.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McKinley struggling a bit here.

Mike McKinley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
