The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garrison looks to land a combination but Belfort avoids it well.
Belfort shoots in and drives through. Garrison sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Belfort.
Garrison lands with a nice combination. Belfort backs away looking to recover.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Garrison.
Belfort walks forward, straight into a front kick from Garrison.
Belfort has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Fedor Belfort has been cut.
Garrison misses with a jab, cross combination.
Belfort falls off balance throwing a combination
and Garrison counters with a body kick that stops Belfort in his tracks momentarily.
Belfort just misses with a punch to the body.
Garrison pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Belfort is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Garrison.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Garrison throws a head kick but Belfort moves out of range.

Garrison is looking to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Belfort bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Belfort decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Garrison misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Belfort feints and as Garrison raises his hands in defense, Belfort changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Garrison keeping moving, preventing Belfort from controlling successfully.
Garrison can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Belfort controls the pace.

Belfort is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garrison is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Belfort is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Garrison has escaped the position, nice work there.
Belfort trying to control the action but Garrison is working from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on Garrison's face as Belfort controls the position.
Belfort's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Belfort wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garrison keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Belfort decides to stand back up. Belfort steps back and let's Garrison get back to his feet.

and Belfort decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Garrison's guard.
Belfort is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Garrison lands a knee to the body.

Garrison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Garrison throws a low kick but Belfort avoids it.
Garrison wants to land a leg kick but Belfort is out of range.
Garrison misses with a head kick.
Good exchange - Garrison coming out on top.
Belfort shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Garrison defends it nicely.
Belfort shoots in for a takedown but Garrison shows good takedown defense.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Belfort rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garrison moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
