Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Meoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meoff comes to the cage accompanied by IRONMAN. Thompson has chosen The game as his entrance music. Joe Thompson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meoff throws a sloppy head kick and Thompson moves out of range easily.
Thompson blocks a head kick by Meoff.
A head kick misses from Meoff.
Meoff fails in his attempt to clinch.
Meoff tries to close the distance and clinch but Thompson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thompson connects with a single shot there.
Meoff uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Thompson.

Meoff clinches.

Thompson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Meoff looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Meoff wants to improve his position but Thompson is controlling well.
Thompson trying to control the action but Meoff is working from the bottom.

Meoff trying to control but Thompson postures up.

Thompson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Thompson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Meoff looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Meoff wants to get back to his feet.

Meoff is defending against the submission attempts here by Thompson.
Meoff pushes Thompson off looking to stand but Thompson dives back in and keeps control.
Thompson drops an elbow to the side of Meoff's head.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Thompson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Thompson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

It looks like Jack Meoff has been cut.
Meoff is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meoff is working hard here to advance position.
Meoff wants to hold on but Thompson pushes him away.

Thompson is working for a guillotine from mount but Meoff frees his head quite easily.
Meoff blocking the ground and pound.

Thompson scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Jack Meoff's cut is getting worse.
Meoff tries to lock up and control but Thompson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Meoff is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Meoff tries to hold on but Thompson postures up.
You get the feeling that Meoff really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Meoff is desperately trying to improve his position but Thompson has a good base and remains in mount.
Thompson lands a big elbow.
Thompson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meoff is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Meoff misses with a wild combination.
Meoff closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Meoff is rocked!

Jack Meoff's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Thompson thuds his shin into the meat of Meoff's side.
Oh Meoff is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Thompson drops Meoff with a huge uppercut! Meoff drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Thompson is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
