Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Huynh!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Huynh.
Smith avoids the head kick by Huynh.
Huynh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.
Huynh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Smith's half guard.
Huynh wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Huynh on the ground.
Huynh is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
Huynh is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Huynh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.

Huynh is looking to pass Smith's guard but actually Smith recovers to full guard.
Huynh slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Smith prevents Huynh from improving position.
A lull in the action here as Huynh stalls from top position.
Smith tries to buck Huynh off but Huynh is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Huynh laying and praying for a moment but Smith takes advantage and regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huynh trying to mount his opponent but Smith defends it.
Smith keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Huynh is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Huynh looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Huynh.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Huynh is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Huynh passes the guard and advances to mount!
Smith is controlling an arm, preventing Huynh from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Huynh is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Smith is forced to tap! Great finish!
