Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Conny Kofot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aruki Masura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Conny Kofot has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Conny Kofot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aruki Masura!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kofot tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kofot wants to clinch.

Masura gets a takedown into half guard.
Masura performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Masura wants to take a breather but Kofot is having none of it.
Masura stalling away here and it's allowed Kofot to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Masura passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Masura is looking to take a break and control but Kofot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Masura advances to mount.
Masura with the ground and pound from mount.
Masura lands with some strikes.
Masura throws some wild stikes that Kofot manages to avoid easily.
Masura has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Masura takes Kofot's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Kofot is in trouble.

Masura throws strikes from the back but Kofot rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Kofot.

Masura tries to free his leg and advance position but Kofot is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Masura controls the position from side control.
Masura passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kofot!
Masura thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Kofot is trying to stand but he's just given Masura his back.
Masura trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kofot doesn't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kofot tries to clinch but Masura moves out of range.
Kofot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

It looks like Aruki Masura has been cut.

Kofot lands a high kick to the side of Masura's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Kofot dives into guard, looking to finish.
Kofot wants to stand but Masura has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Masura looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kofot trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Masura pulls Kofot in to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kofot throws a nice looking combination but Masura bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kofot throws a sloppy head kick and Masura moves out of range easily.
Kofot moves in looking to clinch but Masura pushes him off.
Masura looks to land a body kick but Kofot moved away.

and Masura counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Masura in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Masura has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Masura seems to be looking for submissions.

Masura is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kofot doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Masura.

Kofot won't allow Masura to pass to mount.
Masura with the ground and pound but Kofot uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Masura drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kofot dives on top into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kofot trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Kofot won't allow Masura to sweep him here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Masura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kofot's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kofot wants to stand up but Masura is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Conny Kofot will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Aruki Masura's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Masura dodges the punch combination from Kofot.
No joy there for Kofot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kofot throws a head kick that misses.
Masura throws a chopping leg kick but Kofot manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Masura closes the distance and pushes Kofot back into the cage.

Masura gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kofot regains guard.
Masura trying to move into half guard but instead Kofot has managed to sweep!
Kofot is looking to stand up but Masura won't let him.

Masura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Masura tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Masura is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kofot gets to his feet. Masura looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A head kick misses from Kofot.
Kofot throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Masura throws a head kick that misses
and Kofot counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Kofot thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Masura if he has to take too many more of those.

and Masura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kofot won't be happy with that.

Masura is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kofot is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Masura is staying tight to Kofot's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Masura swings around for an armbar but Kofot sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Masura's guard.
Masura has a closed guard, preventing Kofot from standing up.
Kofot has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kofot loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kofot has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Masura is proving hard to escape from.
Masura is trying to control the position but Kofot postures up.

Masura is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kofot defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kofot is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kofot wants to stand but Masura has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kofot misses with a body kick.
Kofot throws a lazy head kick

and Masura counters by clinching up.

Kofot is trying to break free.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aruki Masura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Masura has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
