Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Calikantzari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Calikantzari! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bob tried to score with a low kick but Calikantzari checks it. Bob with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bob tries to clinch but Calikantzari is having none of it. Calikantzari gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bob prevents Calikantzari from moving into mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bob manages to get back to half guard. Bob trying to control but Calikantzari postures up.

Bob is working an open guard so Calikantzari takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Calikantzari looks gassed! Bob bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Calikantzari shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense. Bob lands a head kick!

Bob scores with a one two! Calikantzari had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Bob throws a right and a left that both miss. Bob shoots in for a takedown but Calikantzari shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bob keeps Calikantzari at a distance using the push kick. Bob scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Bob uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Calikantzari has time to react. Calikantzari tries for a takedown but Bob circles away easily and Bob counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jim Bob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Calikantzari. Bob drives through and clinches with Calikantzari against the cage.
Bob has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Calikantzari uses from the top position. Bob tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bob is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mario Calikantzari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bob tries to close the distance and clinch up but Calikantzari swats him away and circles back towards the center. Calikantzari throws a combination that misses and Bob counters with a series of strikes. Calikantzari will be more careful next time no doubt. Bob uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Calikantzari has time to react. Calikantzari shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bob as he avoids it easily. Calikantzari fails with the takedown and Bob makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calikantzari doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bob counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A nice inside leg kick there by Bob. That's going to slow Calikantzari down. Calikantzari has his takedown stuffed and Bob counters with a nice body kick. Calikantzari has his takedown stuffed and Bob counters with a nice uppercut. Bob closes the distance and lands a one-two. Calikantzari misses with a hook. Bob ducked under it nicely. Calikantzari fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Bob will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bob looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Calikantzari decides to stand back up. Calikantzari steps back and let's Bob get back to his feet. Calikantzari takes a body punch but keeps moving. Calikantzari shoots for a takedown but Bob saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bob thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Calikantzari if he has to take too many more of those.

Nice body kick there by Bob. Bob turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bob lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Calikantzari moves out of range of the body kick. Jim Bob is winning the standup battle so far. Bob showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Calikantzari.
Calikantzari has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Bob. Calikantzari dives in and grabs Bob's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bob pushes down on Calikantzari's head and hops out. Bob explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Calikantzari shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bob stuffs the takedown attempt from Calikantzari. Calikantzari gets slowly back to his feet.

Bob manages to work his way to half guard, despite Calikantzari's best efforts. Bob tries to get to full guard but Calikantzari has control of the leg. Calikantzari wants to pass the guard but Bob is defending well. Mario Calikantzari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mario Calikantzari has got the better of the ground game so far. Bob wants to get back to full guard. Jim Bob is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bob has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Calikantzari is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jim Bob. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bob, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
