Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yogi Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iqbal Al Mamood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Mamood has chosen Mamute Pequenino as his entrance music. Yogi Bear has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yogi Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Iqbal Al Mamood!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear throws a looping overhand right but Al Mamood ducks down to avoid it.
Bear throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bear motions for Al Mamood to come forward. Bear throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bear throws a hook but Al Mamood blocks it.
Bear misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fighters circling - Bear throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Yogi Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al Mamood moves out of range of the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Al Mamood throws a body punch but Bear moves out of range.
Bear shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Al Mamood defends it nicely.
Bear slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Bear makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Bear looks to land a combination but Al Mamood avoids it well.
Al Mamood takes a shot right to the bread basket.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bear finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bear misses with a jab, cross combination.
Al Mamood ducks under a wild hook from Bear.
Nice uppercut lands for Bear. That snapped Al Mamood's head back.
Al Mamood tries for a takedown but Bear circles away easily
and Bear counters with a nice uppercut.

Bear displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Al Mamood throws out the jab.

Bear tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Al Mamood was well out of range. Poor timing from Bear.
Al Mamood gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bear cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Yogi Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iqbal Al Mamood.
Bear looks to throw the jab but Al Mamood is out of range.

and Bear counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Al Mamood thinking.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bear will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Some bone on bone action there as Al Mamood checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Bear lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yogi Bear.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bear, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
