Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kapula Mahlon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kapula Mahlon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mahlon scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mahlon moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kent has worked his arm free - good work by Kent!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mahlon is looking to take a break and control but Kent is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kent wants to control but Mahlon postures up.

Kent tries to bench press Mahlon off him but Mahlon keeps the position.
Kent is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mahlon wants to control but Kent is keeping him busy.
Kent regains half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kent trying to control but Mahlon postures up.
Mahlon is stalling here. Kent is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mahlon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kent has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mahlon tries to buck Kent off but Kent is having none of it.
Mahlon is not content to let Kent control the position.

Kent creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mahlon sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kent has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mahlon!

Mahlon tries to hold on but Kent postures up.
Mahlon takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kent takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mahlon tries to reverse the position but Kent maintains control.
Mahlon is breathing heavily.
Kent content just to control the position here.
Kent looking to control but Mahlon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kent lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mahlon shoots in for a takedown but Kent shows good takedown defense.
Kent jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mahlon fails to land the takedown.

Kent tries to keep at a distance but Mahlon has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kent swats away the attempt to clinch by Mahlon.

Kent pushes Mahlon up against the cage in a clinch.

Mahlon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kent uses from the top position.
Kent chips away with some ground and pound.

Mahlon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kent doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kent manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kent decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Mahlon fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kent is out of range.
Kent shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mahlon counters by moving into the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Kent changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mahlon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kent moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Kent gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mahlon counters with a good, hard body kick but Kent shrugs it off.
Kapula Mahlon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clark Kent.
Kent is looking to clinch.
Mahlon is looking to land body kicks.
Kent shoots for a double leg takedown but Mahlon sprawls well. He's pushed Kent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mahlon wants to clinch but Kent slips to the side

and Kent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mahlon lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Mahlon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mahlon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kent looking to control but Mahlon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Clark Kent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kent looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mahlon wants to control but Kent is keeping busy.
Kent wants to free his trapped foot but Mahlon is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mahlon preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mahlon is not content to let Kent control the position.
Mahlon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kent wants to take a breather but Mahlon is having none of it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kent lands a nice short elbow.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kent throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Kent gets a takedown into half guard.
Kent is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mahlon wants to control but Kent is having none of it.
Kent wants to control the pace but Mahlon is squirming around nicely.
Clark Kent has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kent stands up from mount. Strange move.
Mahlon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mahlon stuffs the takedown attempt from Kent. Kent gets slowly back to his feet.
Kent misses with a takedown attempt - Mahlon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kent misses with an uppercut. Mahlon saw that one coming.
Mahlon scores with a three punch combo!
Kent tries for a takedown but Mahlon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kapula Mahlon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clark Kent.

Kent wants to pass the guard but Mahlon is keeping the position.
Mahlon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kent stays in close to Mahlon's body and controls the position.
Mahlon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mahlon tries to get out of the position.
Mahlon doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Clark Kent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kent winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
