Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet.
Chambers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Chambers misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Renzo Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Chambers.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Chambers counters with a shoot takedown. Gracie fights it but they end up in guard.

Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Chambers defends easily.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Chambers passes into side control.
Gracie is looking for a sweep.

Gracie tries to buck Chambers off but Chambers is having none of it.

Gracie is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Chambers off and has taken his back!

Gracie has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Chambers tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Chambers is looking to get to half guard.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chambers is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chambers and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Chambers is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Chambers is defending well.
Chambers is looking to reverse the position.
Chambers struggling a bit here.

Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chambers shoots and misses

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Chambers is looking to escape.
Chambers trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Chambers is defending the position.
Gracie working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Chambers's thigh. Chambers counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Gracie passes Chambers's left leg - he's now in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chambers tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.
Gracie wants to advance to full mount but Chambers doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Gracie looking to pass the guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chambers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Chambers in his guard.
Chambers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chambers chips away with some ground and pound.
Chambers cracks Gracie with a solid left hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chambers is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jake Chambers will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Chambers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.

and Gracie counters with a good low kick that Chambers was not able to check.

Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Chambers sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Renzo Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chambers wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Chambers is defending well.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chambers is trying to stand.

Chambers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chambers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chambers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chambers!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chambers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Gracie tries to improve position but can't.
Chambers working the ground and pound.
Chambers works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Gracie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Gracie actively working from the bottom here.
Chambers working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chambers pulls his head out easily.
Gracie tries to get to full guard but Chambers has control of the leg.

Chambers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Chambers wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Gracie tries to roll over but Chambers keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. Chambers fights it but they end up in guard.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chambers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chambers has escaped and now he's on top!

Chambers has control of Gracie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gracie regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Chambers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gracie looks a forlorn figure.

That was a close second round but I would say that Renzo Gracie will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Chambers is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Chambers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chambers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Chambers is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back!

Chambers slips a nice elbow through Gracie's hands, connecting with Gracie's forehead.

Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Chambers!
Chambers is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount.

Chambers holds on for dear life, controlling Gracie's posture momentarily.

Chambers defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie.

Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Chambers has worked his arm free - good work by Chambers!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Chambers tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chambers defends it well.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Chambers clinches up with Gracie and pushes him back against the cage.
Gracie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chambers has him pressed against the cage.
Chambers is leaning against Gracie and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Gracie drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chambers pulls his leg out and moves away.
Chambers fails with the takedown
and Gracie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Chambers to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Chambers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Chambers controlling him for the moment.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Chambers from controlling successfully.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chambers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chambers slips nicely into half guard.

Chambers wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well.
Gracie is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Chambers scores with a couple of nice shots.

Chambers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Chambers is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Chambers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.

Gracie gets full guard.

Gracie is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Chambers rolls with it to try and escape but Gracie cranks on the arm and Chambers is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
