Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Montagu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Karel Krakemheds! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montagu waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Krakemheds. Montagu misses with a takedown attempt - Krakemheds sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Montagu throws a series of punches but Krakemheds moves out of range. A lazy left from Krakemheds finds it's target. Montagu misses with a hook. Krakemheds ducked under it nicely. Krakemheds throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Montagu's head. Krakemheds goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Krakemheds shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Krakemheds showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krakemheds is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Krakemheds is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Krakemheds moves into full mount! Montagu won't be happy about that!
That's one minute gone in the round. Krakemheds controlling from the full mount. Montagu is squirming around, avoiding Krakemheds's attempts to control the action. Montagu can't escape the position.
Krakemheds is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Montagu is in real trouble.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Krakemheds has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Montagu's body.
Krakemheds looking to break Montagu's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Montagu remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Krakemheds will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Will Krakemheds go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Montagu is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Krakemheds gets his way!
Krakemheds looks gassed! Montagu just trying to survive but Krakemheds is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montagu is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Krakemheds is looking for the choke from the back position but Montagu is controlling his hands well. Montagu trying to control the hands but Krakemheds breaks the grip. Montagu looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Montagu breaks Krakemheds's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Krakemheds working for a triangle but Montagu defends it easily.
Montagu wants to control from the top but Krakemheds keeps moving. Krakemheds looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Krakemheds keeping full guard, as Montagu tries to pass. Krakemheds wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krakemheds is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Krakemheds is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Montagu is aware though and is defending well. Krakemheds keeping moving, preventing Montagu from controlling successfully. Krakemheds is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Montagu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Montagu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Krakemheds escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montagu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Montagu trying to control but Krakemheds is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karel Krakemheds dominated that round. The cut man is working on Frank Montagu's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Montagu misses with an uppercut. Krakemheds saw that one coming. Krakemheds is trying hard to land a takedown here. Montagu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Montagu throws a wild body kick that Krakemheds sees coming a mile off. Krakemheds lands a nice looking kick to the body. Montagu takes a step back to recover. Krakemheds tries for a takedown but Montagu circles away easily and Montagu counters with a nice body kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Krakemheds. Montagu does a little dance to reset his feet. Frank Montagu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Krakemheds fails with the takedown. Frank Montagu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karel Krakemheds. Krakemheds is breathing heavily. Krakemheds ducks under a wild hook from Montagu. Krakemheds throws a sloppy head kick and Montagu moves out of range easily. Karel Krakemheds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Krakemheds closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Krakemheds wants to work for an arm triangle but Montagu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krakemheds is thwarting Montagu's attempts to control the position. Krakemheds is figuring out what he wants to do next. Montagu is pressing down on Krakemheds's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Montagu keeping full guard, as Krakemheds tries to pass. Krakemheds preventing the sweep. Montagu wants to get back to his feet but Krakemheds is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Montagu trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Krakemheds is stalling in the full guard. Krakemheds wants to pass the guard but Montagu is keeping the position. Montagu wants to get back to his feet but Krakemheds is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Montagu fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Krakemheds is out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krakemheds drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Krakemheds has hold of Montagu's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Montagu seems comfortable defending it but Krakemheds has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Montagu is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Montagu is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Krakemheds couldn't care less - he's delighted!
