Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Harkonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Kvasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kvasov's choice of entrance music: davay za. Roman Kvasov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Harkonnen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Kvasov! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harkonnen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Harkonnen lands in his opponent's guard. Kvasov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Harkonnen controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Harkonnen won't allow Kvasov to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harkonnen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kvasov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Harkonnen is working hard here to advance position. Harkonnen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Harkonnen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Harkonnen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kvasov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harkonnen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Harkonnen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kvasov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Harkonnen takes one to the chin there. Kvasov digs a good hook to Harkonnen's body.

Kvasov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice defenses there by Kvasov. Harkonnen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Harkonnen with a nice head shot there. Harkonnen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kvasov wants to stand up but Harkonnen is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kvasov wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Harkonnen's hips, looking to push off. But Harkonnen grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Kvasov screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Vladimir Harkonnen!
