I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Patrice Desbiens was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desbiens shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hirlo Ribeiro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Desbiens wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hirlo Ribeiro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Desbiens knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hirlo Ribeiro prevents Desbiens from escaping the position.

Hirlo Ribeiro tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Hirlo Ribeiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Desbiens doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Desbiens manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hirlo Ribeiro wants to hit a switch here but Desbiens passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hirlo Ribeiro there!

Desbiens just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
