Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ritchie Blackmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blackmore comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sometimes My Opponent Feels Like Screaming kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Jones! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ritchie Blackmore! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Jones is keen to just control but Blackmore is a slippery customer. Blackmore wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Blackmore is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Blackmore is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jones is looking for a kimura but Blackmore is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage. Blackmore is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blackmore manages to avoid it. Blackmore takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blackmore fails with the takedown and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jones misses with a body shot.
Jones jabs Blackmore right on the nose. Blackmore blinks but takes it well. Blackmore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Blackmore counters with a left to the body. Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Blackmore manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Blackmore is trying to keep Jones in close.

Blackmore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blackmore is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Blackmore wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones has his hands on Blackmore's head, controlling the position. Jones trying to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackmore is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top! Blackmore can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are battling for position here. Blackmore manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard. Blackmore is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Blackmore moves into full guard.
Jones is fighting to break Blackmore's control of his arms but Blackmore is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Blackmore has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Blackmore is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Blackmore is retaining full guard. Blackmore trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Jones wants to control from the top but Blackmore keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones. Jones moves into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Jones dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jones works his way into side control. Jones trying to control the action but Blackmore is working from the bottom. Jones has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Blackmore! Blackmore is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action. Blackmore is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount. Jones is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Jones!
