PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Payton Strader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Peterson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Payton Strader!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Strader gets full guard.

Strader has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Peterson postures up in Strader's guard and throws a big left but Strader blocks it.
Peterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strader swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Peterson is pushing down on Strader's leg trying to pass to half guard. Strader is fighting to maintain full guard but Peterson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Peterson wants to stand up but Strader has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Strader is looking for a sweep. Peterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Peterson passes Strader's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Strader decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Peterson has his foot on Strader's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strader works his way back into a safe position though.
Peterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Peterson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Strader should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Peterson has tightened it up now! Strader should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
