PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Rocky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Disturbed - Sacrifice. Alex Rocky will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, John Bone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Rocky!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bone closes the distance and pushes Rocky back into the cage.
Rocky tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bone just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rocky tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bone smiles and moves away.
Rocky tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Bone counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rocky looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rocky is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rocky is just content to waste time from the top position. Bone takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Bone keeping moving, preventing Rocky from controlling successfully.
Bone might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bone uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Rocky tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Bone counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rocky trying to control from the bottom.
Bone prevents Rocky from improving his position.
Bone controlling the pace.
Bone seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rocky for as long as he can get away with.

Rocky tries to get to full guard but Bone has control of the leg.
Rocky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bone is working away from the top position though.
Rocky moves into full guard.
Bone won't allow Rocky to sweep him here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rocky is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rocky looking to sit in guard and control but Bone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bone controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bone postures up.
Bone is standing up over Rocky. Rocky looks to escape but Bone dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Bone dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Rocky wants to clinch but Bone slips to the side

and Bone counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bone pressing his opponent against the cage.
Rocky fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bone lands with a light punch inside.

Bone pulls guard.
Rocky trying to control but Bone is working from the bottom.

Bone is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rocky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Rocky thows a big elbow that misses.
Bone can't keep his opponent in guard - Rocky advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rocky looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bone wants to control but Rocky is keeping busy.
Rocky thows a huge punch but Bone dodges it nicely.
Bone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bone tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bone is looking to improve his position.
Rocky trying to control from half guard but Bone is working away.
Bone trying to control here.
Bone won't allow Rocky to pass to mount.
Rocky is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rocky is trying to control the action in half guard but Bone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rocky tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Bone counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bone.
Rocky jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bone walks away with a smile on his face. Rocky gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Bone counters with a nice double leg into guard.
John Bone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Rocky.
Bone stands and throws Rocky's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rocky manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bone's best efforts.
Bone not doing much here.
John Bone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Bone dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Bone clinches with his opponent.
Rocky tries to pull guard but Bone won't allow it.
Rocky tries to circle away but Bone has him pinned against the cage.
Rocky wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bone has him pressed against the cage.
Bone lands on the inside with an uppercut.


It looks like Alex Rocky has been cut.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Bone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rocky keeps the fight on the outside.

Bone instigates a clinch.
Rocky is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rocky takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bone lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Come on Bone - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Rocky can't break the clinch.
Bone has Rocky pushed against the cage.
Rocky taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Rocky misses with a body punch.

Bone tightens his grip and picks Rocky up, before dumping him to the ground. Rocky manages to land in guard.

Bone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bone is standing up over Rocky. Rocky looks to escape but Bone dives into side control.
Bone controls the position from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rocky is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rocky is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bone is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rocky's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rocky is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here as Bone stalls from top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Bone showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bone has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
