Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Garth Haverbrook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Garth Haverbrook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gerald Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haverbrook throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hatton's waist but Hatton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Haverbrook off to one side.
Haverbrook fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Haverbrook misses with a wild combination.
Hatton with a poor takedown

and Haverbrook counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hatton looking for a guillotine here but Haverbrook defends easily.

Haverbrook stands up from Hatton's guard - Haverbrook perhaps looking for a knockout.
Haverbrook tries to clinch up but Hatton circles away and keeps his distance.

and Haverbrook counters with a shoot takedown. Hatton fights it but they end up in guard.
Haverbrook could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Haverbrook wants to pass the guard but Hatton is keeping the position.

Haverbrook slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hatton wants to stand and escape but Haverbrook is having none of it.
Hatton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hatton decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hatton wants to clinch

and Haverbrook counters by clinching up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Haverbrook works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Haverbrook trying to control the position from guard on top but Hatton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Haverbrook throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hatton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Haverbrook might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hatton regains half guard there - taking advantage of Haverbrook's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Haverbrook has his hands clasped together around Hatton's back. He's all about the action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Haverbrook tries to get to full guard but Hatton has control of the leg.
Haverbrook is not content to let Hatton control the position.
Haverbrook slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hatton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hatton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Haverbrook is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Haverbrook holds on and takes a little breather.

Haverbrook has his feet on Hatton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hatton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gerald Hatton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Haverbrook throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hatton was covering up waiting for the punch and Haverbrook finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hatton tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Garth Haverbrook showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Haverbrook, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
