Chernyshevsky comes to the cage accompanied by The Sisters of Mercy -- Lucretia, My Reflection. Muir has chosen Killing in the name of as his entrance music. Rakhmetov Chernyshevsky could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joseph Muir's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chernyshevsky lands a glancing blow to the side of Muir's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Chernyshevsky feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Muir gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Chernyshevsky to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Chernyshevsky lands a nice hook to Muir's body. Muir takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chernyshevsky connects with a nice short shot to Muir's temple.

That has opened up Joseph Muir's cut even more.

Muir is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Chernyshevsky scores with a couple of nice shots.

Chernyshevsky is taking a breather. Muir says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chernyshevsky is pressing down on Muir's thigh, looking to free his foot. Muir is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Muir takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Chernyshevsky shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Muir napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Chernyshevsky looks up at the clock and then as Muir takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chernyshevsky smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rakhmetov Chernyshevsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Muir takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.


Joseph Muir's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joseph Muir's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
