The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Crashing Mashin to score an easy takedown into full guard. Crashing Mashin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Emelianenko's head. Crashing Mashin stays in close to Emelianenko's body and controls the position. Crashing Mashin wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving. Emelianenko wants to stand up but Crashing Mashin is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crashing Mashin breaks from Emelianenko's wrist control and lands an elbow. Emelianenko takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Emelianenko is bucking up trying to escape but Crashing Mashin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

It looks like Aleksander Emelianenko has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Crashing Mashin landing punches.
