Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miro Gannad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Smitherton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gannad kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is E.S. Posthumus - Pompeii. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joey Smitherton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smitherton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smitherton tries a head kick but it misses.
Smitherton throws a sloppy head kick and Gannad moves out of range easily.
Smitherton looks gassed!
Gannad fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smitherton sprawls well initially but Gannad persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gannad stops Smitherton from getting back to his feet.
Gannad not doing much here.
Gannad has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Smitherton is in trouble now - Gannad has advanced to mount!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gannad is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smitherton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Smitherton defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gannad.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Smitherton is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gannad locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Smitherton is forced to tap!
