Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Dig by Incubus. Paulsen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Berserkergang kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Paulsen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Johnson avoids the body shot from Paulsen.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Paulsen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Paulsen shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paulsen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Paulsen tries a head kick but it misses.

Johnson thuds his shin into the meat of Paulsen's side.

Paulsen gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson stops Paulsen from standing up.
Johnson wanted to stand there but Paulsen had control of the position.
Paulsen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paulsen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Johnson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Paulsen off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Paulsen lands with a right that hurts Johnson. Johnson looks to clinch but Paulsen throws a short knee that drops Johnson. This one is all over!
