Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Nara!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steven Seagul!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nara fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Seagul manages to avoid it.
Seagul shoots in and drives through. Nara sprawls well.
Nara defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Seagul.
Nara swings for the body but Seagul moves out of range.
Seagul fails to land the takedown.
Shin Nara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Seagul.
Nara stuffs the takedown.
Steven Seagul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Seagul.
Nara moves out of range of the leg kick from Seagul.
Nara fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Seagul looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Seagul walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nara checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Nara throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Nara throws a series of punches but Seagul moves out of range.
Seagul is looking to clinch but Nara is avoiding it.
Seagul throws a low kick but Nara avoids it.
Seagul fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Seagul looks gassed!
Nara misses with a straight right.
Nice sprawl there from Nara as Seagul shoots in.
Horrible takedown by Seagul or perhaps it was just good defense by Nara which made him look bad.
Nara stuns Seagul with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nara lunges at Seagul with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Seagul's hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Seagul fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Seagul moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Seagul ducks straight into an uppercut from Nara and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Seagul manages to regain guard straight away.


Seagul is rocked!
Nara slips nicely into half guard.
Nara is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Nara takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Nara is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Nara!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Shin Nara!
