Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gattsu Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalevi Sorsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Contender. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gattsu Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kalevi Sorsa! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Emelianenko. A combination from Sorsa does no damage. Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sorsa circles away quickly and effectively. Emelianenko lands a nice shot to the body.
Sorsa slips under a jab from Emelianenko. Sorsa tries to score with a low kick but Emelianenko moves his leg out of the way. Emelianenko falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Sorsa counter with a right hand. Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sorsa circles away quickly and effectively. Emelianenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No luck for Sorsa with that takedown attempt. Emelianenko thows a body shot but no joy. Emelianenko scores with a hook to the body. Sorsa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Gattsu Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emelianenko listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Sorsa attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sorsa on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Emelianenko lands with a straight right. Sorsa didn't see that one coming. Emelianenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sorsa.
Emelianenko throws a right and a left that both miss. No joy there for Emelianenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sorsa stuffs the takedown attempt from Emelianenko. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet. Emelianenko connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sorsa's hands. Emelianenko misses with a body shot.
Emelianenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sorsa moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sorsa lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Emelianenko at a distance.
Sorsa takes one to the chin there. Sorsa fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Emelianenko checks it well. Emelianenko takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Emelianenko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sorsa doesn't seem bothered though. Emelianenko looks to score with a jab to the body but Sorsa is just out of range. Emelianenko throws a one two combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Emelianenko lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sorsa looks gassed! Emelianenko stuns Sorsa with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Emelianenko lands a body shot.
Emelianenko is looking to wear down Sorsa with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Emelianenko tries to bum rush Sorsa with a series of wild strikes but Sorsa uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Emelianenko thows a body shot but no joy. Sorsa is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Emelianenko. Emelianenko lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sorsa at a distance.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Emelianenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sorsa is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Emelianenko locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Sorsa is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gattsu Emelianenko!
