Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Jules (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nomi Mae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Mae misses the target.
Jules feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mae's calf.

Jules throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jules will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Mae instigates a clinch.

Gregory Jules has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nomi Mae.

Mae has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jules uses from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mae thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
