Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Hector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Riisikas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Riisikas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dexter Hector! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Riisikas! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hector looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Dexter Hector has been cut. Riisikas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hector moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Paul Riisikas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riisikas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hector. Hector changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Riisikas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Riisikas managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hector.
Hector scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Riisikas to see if he's OK. Hector landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Riisikas avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hector. Hector lands an elbow. Riisikas on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Riisikas tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hector wants to control but Riisikas is keeping him busy. Riisikas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hector has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Riisikas struggling a bit here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Hector lands a decent elbow from side control. Hector lands a few punches from side control. You can see the frustration on Riisikas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Riisikas managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hector.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Riisikas fails to land with a series of punches.
Hector uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Riisikas. Riisikas throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hector closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hector lands in his opponent's guard. Hector stops Riisikas from standing up. Riisikas working a defensive guard here.

Dexter Hector dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dexter Hector's cut. That's time! Hector's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Riisikas throws a hook to the side of Hector's head but Hector sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Hector bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hector grinds an elbow into Riisikas's temple. Hector grinds an elbow into Riisikas's temple. Hector lands a few punches from side control. Riisikas is trying to escape and get back to his feet. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Riisikas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Riisikas is looking for a sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hector throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Riisikas works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Hector thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riisikas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hector stalling. Riisikas looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hector thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Riisikas's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Riisikas lands a jab to the nose. Some wild striking there from Riisikas.
Hector blocks a jab. Riisikas throws a combination. Hector tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Riisikas misses the shot to the body. Hector has a takedown stuffed. Hector ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hector moves away from the strike by Riisikas. Riisikas throws the left hand but Hector avoids the punch easily. Riisikas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hector to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Riisikas is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Hector working the ground and pound. Hector throwing shots but missing, from side control. No joy there for Riisikas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Riisikas jabbing away but nothing is landing. Riisikas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Riisikas wants it to stay on the feet. Riisikas throws a body punch but Hector moves out of range. Hector throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Riisikas's waist but Riisikas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hector off to one side. Hector avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hector fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Riisikas sprawls well initially but Hector persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hector missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Riisikas tries to get to full guard but Hector has control of the leg. Riisikas is trying to stand back up but Hector is controlling him

Hector sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Riisikas defending well though. Hector throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Riisikas throws a right and a left that Hector avoids nicely. Hector shoots in looking for a takedown. Riisikas tries to sprawl out of it but Hector keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Riisikas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dexter Hector. That's going to take a lot out of him. Riisikas throws a combination. Hector tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Hector feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Hector. Riisikas is looking to control Hector's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Riisikas avoid being mounted? Paul Riisikas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hector scoring with strikes to the body and head. Riisikas is staying active underneath Hector, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that's the end of the fight! Dexter Hector showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hector, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
