Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Dela Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randall Martin! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Dela Cruz throws a body punch but Martin moves out of range. Dela Cruz looks to land a left hand but Martin moved out of range nicely. Dela Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Martin shows good takedown defense. Dela Cruz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Martin's half guard. Dela Cruz lands with a punch from half guard. Martin wants to get back to his feet.
Dela Cruz is trying to control the action in half guard but Martin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dela Cruz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Martin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dela Cruz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Martin sees it coming and defends easily. Dela Cruz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Cruz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Martin pushes Dela Cruz off looking to stand but Dela Cruz dives back in and keeps control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Martin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dela Cruz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dela Cruz looking to sit in guard and control but Martin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dela Cruz is pulling down on Martin's head. It's preventing any offense from Martin, at least for the moment. Martin wants to stand but Dela Cruz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Dela Cruz is working an open guard so Martin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Dela Cruz takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. That's three minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Martin as he jumps to the side. Dela Cruz thows a left - swing and a miss! Martin misses with a kick to the body.
A shot to the liver by Dela Cruz. Beautiful body shot. Dela Cruz blocks a low kick nicely. Martin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dela Cruz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Dela Cruz thows a body shot but no joy. Martin throws a leg kick that misses. Dela Cruz throws a hook to the side of Martin's head but Martin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Martin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dela Cruz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Martin can pounce on him.
Dela Cruz is looking to wear down Martin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz misses with a shot to the body enabling Martin to counter with a crisp jab. Dela Cruz misses with a body shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Martin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dela Cruz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dela Cruz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Dela Cruz has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Dela Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dela Cruz throws a shot from downtown. Martin moves away and avoids it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dela Cruz is defended easily by Martin. Dela Cruz blocks a jab. Dela Cruz shoots for a takedown but Martin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dela Cruz misses with a straight left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that King Dela Cruz will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dela Cruz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Martin manages to avoid it. Dela Cruz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Martin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dela Cruz. Dela Cruz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Martin manages to escape and get back to his feet! Dela Cruz shoots and misses and Martin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Dela Cruz's knee momentarily. Martin ducks under a wild hook from Dela Cruz. Dela Cruz throws a sloppy body shot
and Martin counters with a big head kick but Dela Cruz shrugs it off. A looping hook to the body misses from Dela Cruz. Martin does a little dance to reset his feet. Martin throws a right and a left that both miss. Martin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like King Dela Cruz has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A jab from Martin finds it's way through Dela Cruz's defenses.

Dela Cruz gets the takedown into side control. Dela Cruz works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Martin pushes Dela Cruz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dela Cruz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Dela Cruz tries to score with some ground and pound. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A jab from Dela Cruz misses. Martin misses with a looping left. Martin slips a straight right by Dela Cruz. Dela Cruz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Martin defends it nicely. Randall Martin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Martin staying out of range there. Martin throws a head kick that misses. Dela Cruz misses with a hook. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dela Cruz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Martin to the mat! Martin manages to get full guard. Dela Cruz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Martin keeping moving, preventing Dela Cruz from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randall Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on King Dela Cruz's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dela Cruz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Randall Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dela Cruz looks to throw the jab but Martin is out of range. Martin tries to land a front kick but Dela Cruz steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Martin tries a head kick but it misses.

Dela Cruz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Martin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Martin being controlled here, momentarily. It's preventing any offense from Martin, at least for the moment. Dela Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that's the end of the fight! King Dela Cruz showed his dominance in that final round. I think Dela Cruz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
