Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Cowboy Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Thomas throws a combination. Sanchez tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sanchez wants to control but Thomas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sanchez is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Thomas is staying active. Sanchez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Thomas pulls his head out easily. Sanchez is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Thomas is taking a breather. Sanchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Thomas lands with a punch from half guard. Thomas working over Sanchez with some ground and pound. Sanchez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Thomas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Thomas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sanchez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Thomas tries to stand and escape but Sanchez is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas not doing much here.
Sanchez tries to get to full guard but Thomas has control of the leg. Sanchez is trying to control but can't.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Thomas looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sanchez! Thomas with good strikes from the mount here! A nice elbow there by Thomas. Sanchez tries to hold on but Thomas postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Sanchez tries to hold on but Thomas pushes him away. Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Thomas looking for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez is having none of it. Thomas working Sanchez over with strikes here. Thomas is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Thomas!
