Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gesias Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gesias Carneiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Foster! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster throws a jab but it's blocked by Carneiro. Foster misses with the combination.
Foster closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Foster lands in his opponent's guard. Carneiro pulls Foster in to control the position. Carneiro is looking to stand up but Foster isn't so interested in that idea. Foster throwing strikes from guard but Carneiro blocks nicely. Foster tries to stand but Carneiro is controlling from the bottom. Carneiro tries to land a sweep but no joy. Carneiro is adopting a defensive guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carneiro looking for a sweep. Not yet Carneiro, not yet. Foster postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Foster misses with a head kick.
Foster throws a shot from downtown. Carneiro moves away and avoids it. Carneiro closes the distance and pushes Foster back into the cage. Foster is pressed up against the cage. Carneiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Foster down to the mat. Foster avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Carneiro circles away from the clinch attempt and Carneiro counters with a nice double leg into guard. Carneiro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foster is keeping the position for now. Foster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carneiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carneiro stands and throws Foster's legs to the side, diving into side control. Foster is looking for a sweep. Carneiro just content to control the position. Carneiro looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Carneiro controlling from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carneiro throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Foster regains half guard. Carneiro is taking a breather. Foster says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Carneiro looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Foster is trying to control but can't.
Foster wants to get back to full guard. Foster throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Carneiro works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Carneiro controlling his opponent. Carneiro seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Foster for as long as he can get away with. Foster is in a horrible position here. Carneiro smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Carneiro looking for a guillotine from mount but Foster is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gesias Carneiro dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Foster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carneiro.
Foster throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carneiro. Foster just misses with a punch to the body.
Foster has his takedown stuffed and Carneiro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carneiro. Foster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carneiro controls the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gesias Carneiro. Carneiro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carneiro lands in his opponent's guard. Carneiro trying to control but Foster is working from the bottom. Gesias Carneiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Carneiro stops Foster from standing up. Foster is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carneiro controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Foster controls Carneiro momentarily but Carneiro frees himself. Foster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carneiro controls the pace. Carneiro throwing strikes but missing. Carneiro advances to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carneiro in particular looking to stall. Carneiro thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Foster's head. Carneiro keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Foster is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carneiro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Carneiro is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Well, if Carneiro is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gesias Carneiro. Foster looks to land a body kick but Carneiro moved away. Carneiro moves into the clinch successfully.
Carneiro wants a takedown but no success here.
Carneiro changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Foster fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Foster doesn't succeed with the takedown and Carneiro counters with a takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foster tries to get back to half guard but can't. Carneiro controls the position. Foster stops Carneiro from passing to mount. Carneiro is working to tighten is grip on Foster's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Foster has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Carneiro is really squeezing tight and eventually Foster passes out! Carneiro breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
