Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brando Haywood!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haywood misses with a looping left.
Haywood lands with a shot to the body.
Rodriguez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Haywood doesn't seem bothered though.
Rodriguez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Haywood has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Brando Haywood has been cut.
Haywood looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Haywood lands a two punch combo.
Rodriguez wants to clinch up but Haywood keeps it at a distance.
Rodriguez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Haywood.
Haywood drops his hands momentarily and Rodriguez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rodriguez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rodriguez lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Rodriguez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Rodriguez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rodriguez manages to end up in side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Haywood can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rodriguez is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Haywood is trying to escape and Rodriguez transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Haywood is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rodriguez! Very nice indeed!
