Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Facekicker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Carwin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Facekicker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Facekicker loads up on a big right hand but Carwin slips the punch.
Facekicker misses with a body shot.
Facekicker leaves Carwin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carwin.
Carwin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dan Facekicker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Carwin.

Carwin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Facekicker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carwin has Facekicker in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Facekicker stands up.

Facekicker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Facekicker sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Carwin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carwin tries to bench press Facekicker off him but Facekicker keeps the position.
Facekicker throws an elbow but Carwin slips to the side and avoids it well.
Facekicker is looking to take a break and control but Carwin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ground and pound from Facekicker seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Facekicker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Facekicker stops Carwin from getting back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Facekicker creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Carwin sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Carwin wants to stand but Facekicker has his arm trapped.

Carwin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
A lull in the action here as Carwin stalls from top position.
Facekicker is looking to reverse the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Carwin tries to close the distance and clinch but Facekicker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Facekicker counters with a low kick, right behind Carwin 's knee.

Facekicker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Facekicker wants to take a breather but Carwin manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Facekicker.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Facekicker here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Facekicker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
