Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Richard Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teixeira comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Terror. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Felix Martin was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Teixeira! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Felix Martin! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Teixeira lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Martin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Teixeira swivels and escapes. Martin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Teixeira fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Martin avoids it really well and circles away. Martin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Teixeira. Teixeira avoids the body shot from Martin.
Martin takes a swing at Teixeira's ribcage but misses. Martin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Teixeira looks like he's trying to stand up.
Martin trying to pass the guard but Teixeira defending well. Martin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Teixeira defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Teixeira manages to get to full guard.
Teixeira has Martin pulled in close to control his posture. Martin trying to control but Teixeira is working from the bottom. Teixeira pulls Martin in to control the position. Teixeira's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Martin wants to control from the top but Teixeira keeps moving. Martin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Teixeira is keeping the position for now. Teixeira can't keep his opponent in guard - Martin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Teixeira works his way to full guard. Good work. Teixeira pulls Martin in close to prevent any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Teixeira pulls Martin in close to prevent any damage. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The fighters circling - Martin throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Teixeira avoids the body shot from Martin.
Martin moves away from the strike by Teixeira. Teixeira jabs at Martin's body. Teixeira ducks under a wild hook from Martin. Martin misses with a hook. Teixeira ducked under it nicely. Martin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Teixeira did well to prevent Martin getting side control. Teixeira pushes Martin off looking to stand but Martin dives back in and keeps control.
Martin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Teixeira has managed to free his arm - good work. Martin looks gassed! Martin is trying to control the action in half guard but Teixeira is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Teixeira tries to get to full guard but Martin has control of the leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Teixeira controlling the position well. Martin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Martin prevents Teixeira from standing back up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Teixeira ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Martin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Martin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Martin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Martin misses the body punch and Teixeira counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Martin shoots in for a takedown but Teixeira shows good takedown defense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Teixeira dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Martin misses with a jab to the body
and Teixeira makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A shot to the body from Martin misses and Teixeira counters with a lovely straight right hand! Martin misses with a shot to the body and Teixeira counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Martin takes one to the chin there. Martin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Teixeira sprawls well. Teixeira wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Martin gets slowly back to his feet. Teixeira scores with a nice strike. Teixeira connects with a good right hand that stumbles Martin. Martin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Martin is rocked!
It looks like Felix Martin has been cut. Martin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Martin is still on wobbly legs! Can Teixeira finish him? Martin is breathing heavily. A punch lands to the side of Martin 's head but he takes it in his stride. This has been an exciting period of action! Martin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Teixeira circles away. Teixeira drops Martin with a straight right hand, right on the button! Teixeira follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Teixeira! Richard Teixeira retains his bantamweight title!
