Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buster Brutus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Fenix has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Fenix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buster Brutus! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brutus throws a right and a left that Fenix avoids nicely. Brutus throws a series of punches but Fenix avoids them all with ease. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fenix, as that shot connected.
Fenix swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Brutus counters with a nice uppercut. Fenix avoids the body shot from Brutus.
Brutus throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fenix counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Fenix scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brutus doesn't seem bothered though. Brutus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Brutus looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fenix throws a right and a left that Brutus avoids nicely. Fenix scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Brutus throws a combination that misses and Fenix counters with a straight right hand. Fenix scores with a sloppy right hand. Brutus should have avoided that one. Buster Brutus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Brutus misses. Brutus throws a combination that misses and Brutus is countered with a crisp right hand from Fenix that sends him to the canvas! Fenix follows him to the mat into side control.
Brutus is rocked! Fenix is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Brutus's shoulder. That is not cool. Brutus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fenix. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fenix looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fenix working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Fenix trying to control the position but Brutus is working away. Brutus tries to escape but Fenix is in control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fenix thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fenix is looking to take a break and control but Brutus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Fenix controlling from side mount. Fenix has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fenix wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brutus keeps working. Brutus is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Fenix is controlling him well. Fenix laying and praying for a moment but Brutus takes advantage and regains half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Brutus wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fenix keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Fenix will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fenix prevents Brutus from standing back up.
We're going to have a standup here because Marcus Fenix wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Brutus throws a combination that misses and Fenix counters with a stiff right hand. A jab from Fenix finds it's way through Brutus's defenses. Fenix misses with a combination
and Brutus counters with a nice body shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fenix dips to his left and cracks Brutus with an uppercut! Fenix digs a good body shot into Brutus's ribs. Fenix lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Fenix scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Fenix dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Brutus enables Fenix to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brutus manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Brutus can't keep his opponent in guard - Fenix advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Fenix is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brutus is just riding it out for now. Fenix eventually gives up the hold. Brutus is trying to stand up here but Fenix is controlling him well. Brutus is breathing heavily. Fenix looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fenix tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brutus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Fenix performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Brutus is trying to stand back up but Fenix is controlling him
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Fenix seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Brutus is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Marcus Fenix!
