Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Antonio Inoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Ajhodia! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ajhodia fails to land with a series of punches.
Ajhodia stuffs the takedown attempt from Inoki. Inoki gets slowly back to his feet. Inoki blocks a head kick by Ajhodia.
Ajhodia throws a head kick that misses. Ajhodia misses with a series of wild punches.
Inoki takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Inoki takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Inoki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Inoki shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Inoki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ajhodia fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Inoki. Ajhodia misses with a two punch combination.
Inoki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ajhodia's waist but Ajhodia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Inoki off to one side. Ajhodia moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Inoki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Inoki is breathing heavily. Ajhodia lands a two punch combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Inoki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ajhodia tries to avoid it but Inoki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ajhodia to the ground. Ajhodia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ajhodia lands with an uppercut that bounces Inoki off the cage and back into rage. Ajhodia jabs at Inoki's body. Ajhodia darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Inoki shoots for a takedown but Ajhodia saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A nice combination there by Ajhodia.
Ajhodia lands with a nice combination. Inoki backs away looking to recover. Nice sprawl there from Ajhodia as Inoki shoots in. Ajhodia throws a one two combo.
Ajhodia bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Inoki's head. Ajhodia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ajhodia is working the combinations to good effect here. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Ajhodia - that will leave a mark!
Inoki shoots in but no luck this time. Ajhodia lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A punch combination from Ajhodia misses. Ajhodia throws a nice looking combination but Inoki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A combination from Ajhodia does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ajhodia scores with a kick to the midsection. Ajhodia will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ajhodia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ajhodia swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ajhodia lands a jab to the nose. Ajhodia throws a head kick but Inoki moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Inoki. Ajhodia should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ajhodia lands a head kick!
Ajhodia throws a series of punches but Inoki moves out of range. Ajhodia lands with a slapping head kick. Ajhodia tries to bum rush Inoki with a series of wild strikes but Inoki uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ajhodia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ajhodia lands a really nice looking cross but Inoki seems unphased.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ajhodia throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Matt Ajhodia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ajhodia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ajhodia throws a head kick that misses. Inoki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Inoki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Inoki is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Inoki extends the arm and Ajhodia is forced to tap!
