Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derek Zoolander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derek Zoolander has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyoto Maia!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia misses with a head kick.
Maia pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Zoolander lands a nice looking body shot.
Nice sprawl there from Zoolander as Maia shoots in.
Maia moves out of range of the body kick from Zoolander.
Maia buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Maia counters with a takedown into side control.
Zoolander tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maia wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Zoolander is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maia's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maia's back!

Zoolander wants to control but Maia manages to buck him off and is now in Zoolander's guard! Nice work there by Maia!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Zoolander thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zoolander throws a body punch but Maia moves out of range.
Maia looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Zoolander stalks Maia and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Maia's face. Maia staggers backwards, shaken.

Maia lands with a nice body kick.

Zoolander swings for the body but Maia moves out of range.
Maia just misses with a punch to the body.

Maia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Zoolander tries to get to full guard but Maia has control of the leg.

Maia is trying to work for a kimura but Zoolander is defending well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Maia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zoolander is just riding it out for now. Maia eventually gives up the hold.

Zoolander is trying to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maia throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Maia stalling away here and it's allowed Zoolander to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Zoolander lands with a good body shot.

and Maia counters with a single leg into guard. Zoolander didn't expect that.
Zoolander tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zoolander is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Zoolander works his foot free and advances to mount.
Maia is bucking up trying to escape but Zoolander cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Maia is in a horrible position here. Zoolander smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zoolander avoids the attempt from Maia to control.
Zoolander lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Zoolander lands a big shot there that rocks Maia but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Maia wants to land a leg kick but Zoolander is out of range.

and Zoolander counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Maia!
