Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnnie Boy Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnnie Boy Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Gracie keeps control of the position for the meantime. Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones prevents Gracie from improving his position. Jones tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gracie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gracie is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gracie trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Gracie showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Johnnie Boy Gracie. Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard. Gracie has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position. Gracie is trying to keep Jones in close.
Gracie is really struggling to control Jones but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gracie is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Gracie has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.

Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gracie is trying to keep Jones in close.
Gracie is breathing heavily. Gracie has Jones pulled in close to control his posture. Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gracie is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries for a kimura but Gracie is defending well. Jones tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Gracie sneaks back into half guard. Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jones won't allow Gracie to sweep him here. Gracie is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Jones dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gracie shoots and misses and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gracie won't be happy with that. Gracie gets back to half guard. Jones is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Gracie reverses the position - he's now on top in Jones's guard. Gracie advances to half guard. Gracie is controlling the pace.
Gracie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Gracie has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie passes to full mount! Gracie controlling his opponent. Gracie wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Gracie content just to control the position here. Jones wants to control but Gracie is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jones because Gracie loaded up on that one. Jones is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Jones can't escape the position.
Gracie thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Jones holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gracie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Johnnie Boy Gracie just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Gracie misses with a wild body shot. Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jones shoots in and drives through. Gracie sprawls well. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Gracie. Gracie misses with a takedown and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gracie! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnnie Boy Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away. Gracie is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea. Gracie slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Gracie wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jones wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling the position.
Gracie is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted? Gracie is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Gracie controlling Jones's posture. Jones wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Johnnie Boy Gracie just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jones won't allow Gracie to sweep him here. Jones wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie postures up.
Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnnie Boy Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jones keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
