Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, bennet Amparo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, jodel Psychopath! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amparo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Psychopath's guard. Psychopath looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Amparo wants to control from the top but Psychopath keeps moving. Amparo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Psychopath avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Amparo looking to pass the guard. Psychopath keeping moving, preventing Amparo from controlling successfully. Amparo tries to free his leg and advance position but Psychopath is retaining full guard. Amparo trying to control but Psychopath is working from the bottom. Amparo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Amparo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Amparo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Amparo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Amparo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Psychopath taking shots to the head. Amparo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Psychopath?
Amparo lands with some strikes. Psychopath is working to get back to half guard.
Psychopath takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Amparo tries to control but Psychopath wriggling away. Amparo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Psychopath can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Amparo wants to finish this one by submission but Psychopath is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Amparo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amparo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Amparo looking to finish Psychopath with some ground and pound. This is bad for Psychopath! Amparo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Amparo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Psychopath looks a forlorn figure.
Amparo prevents Psychopath from getting the reversal. Amparo is landing with some decent strikes but Psychopath is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amparo is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Amparo!
