Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drew Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carpenter comes into the arena with Let The Sunshine In blaring out of the sound system. Matt Sabre will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Drew Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Sabre! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sabre throws a nice inside leg kick. Carpenter gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sabre scores with a nice right hand.
Carpenter swings away with a leg kick that misses. Sabre misses with a hook. Carpenter swings away with a leg kick that misses. Carpenter shoots for a double leg takedown but Sabre sprawls well. He's pushed Carpenter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Carpenter feints and as Sabre raises his hands in defense, Carpenter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carpenter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carpenter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carpenter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sabre swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sabre looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Carpenter looking to pass the guard. Sabre looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carpenter is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Carpenter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sabre dips to his left and cracks Carpenter with an uppercut! Drew Carpenter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sabre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carpenter circles away quickly and effectively. Carpenter dives in and grabs Sabre's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sabre pushes down on Carpenter's head and hops out. Carpenter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sabre defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drew Carpenter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sabre ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. No joy there for Sabre, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Carpenter drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carpenter preventing the sweep. Carpenter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Carpenter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sabre is keeping the position for now. Carpenter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Sabre wants to sweep but no luck. Sabre preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sabre avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carpenter advances position into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpenter in side control, throwing shots but Sabre defends.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sabre scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Carpenter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Sabre bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sabre checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sabre moves out of range of the leg kick from Carpenter. Carpenter walks into a jab. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sabre, right into the meat.
Carpenter misses with a kick to the body.
Sabre connects with a right hand. Carpenter shakes it off. Carpenter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carpenter postures up in Sabre's guard and throws a big left but Sabre blocks it. Sabre is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sabre working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carpenter. Sabre trying to control the position here. Carpenter tries to free his leg and advance position but Sabre is retaining full guard. Sabre is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Sabre keeping moving, preventing Carpenter from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carpenter is looking to work some ground and pound but Sabre has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Sabre dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A solid body kick from Carpenter. Carpenter shoots in for a takedown but Sabre shows good takedown defense. Carpenter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sabre throws a looping overhand right but Carpenter ducks down to avoid it. Sabre checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Carpenter tries a low kick but Sabre avoids it. Carpenter throws a leg kick but Sabre checks it. Sabre has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. A solid leg kick lands there for Carpenter.
Carpenter is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Sabre works Carpenter's body with a nice hook. Sabre misses the shot to the body. Sabre dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Carpenter tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sabre is able to avoid easily. Sabre pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sabre lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Carpenter thows a leg kick but Sabre checks it enabling Sabre to counter with a crisp jab. Sabre connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Carpenter gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! Carpenter misses with a leg kick and Sabre counters with a good low kick that Carpenter was not able to check.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Excellent takedown into side control there by Carpenter. Sabre dodges the ground and pound from Carpenter. Carpenter tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Sabre is trying to control Carpenter's posture but Carpenter avoids it. Carpenter scores with punches from side control. Carpenter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Carpenter throws a strike aimed at the side of Sabre's head but Sabre avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sabre tries to bench press Carpenter off him but Carpenter keeps the position. Sabre wants to control but Carpenter postures up. Carpenter tries to score with some ground and pound. Sabre controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Carpenter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carpenter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Carpenter is trying to ground and pound but Sabre uses the momentary lack of control by Carpenter to regain half guard. Carpenter is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

He's got his arms around Sabre's waist but Sabre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carpenter off to one side. Carpenter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sabre avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Carpenter. Carpenter cracks Sabre with a big right hand but Sabre just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Sabre sneaks back into half guard. Carpenter is trying to control the action in half guard but Sabre is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpenter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sabre's head. Sabre keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Carpenter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Carpenter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sabre is refusing to be controlled, as Carpenter sits in half guard. Sabre is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carpenter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carpenter's back! Sabre lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Carpenter rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sabre missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Sabre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Carpenter doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sabre counters with a straight right hand. Carpenter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Carpenter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sabre looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Carpenter misses with the ground and pound. Carpenter working away. Carpenter misses with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Sabre works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Sabre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sabre is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carpenter is controlling him. Carpenter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carpenter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sabre looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Carpenter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Carpenter tries to pass to full mount but Sabre defends it. Carpenter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Carpenter missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Sabre tries to get to full guard but Carpenter has control of the leg.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carpenter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Carpenter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sabre avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carpenter. Carpenter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sabre's head. Sabre is trying to get back to full guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Carpenter lands a nice short elbow. Carpenter throwing shots but Sabre is blocking nicely. Sabre keeping control of the position. Matt Sabre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Carpenter throwing shots but Sabre is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Carpenter throwing shots but Sabre is blocking nicely. Carpenter not landing any meaningful shots this time. Drew Carpenter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carpenter connects with a nice short shot to Sabre's temple. Carpenter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Drew Carpenter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sabre blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carpenter. Carpenter seems to be looking for submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Drew Carpenter showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sabre has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
