Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry Hawk has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Riggins!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggins has Hawk up against the cage in a clinch.
Hawk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Riggins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Riggins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Riggins can't break the clinch.
Riggins is pressed up against the cage. Hawk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Riggins down to the mat. Riggins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hawk throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like Andy Riggins has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hawk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Hawk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Riggins avoids a punch combination nicely.

Riggins closes the distance and pushes Hawk back into the cage.
Riggins looking for a takedown.

Riggins tightens his grip and picks Hawk up, before dumping him to the ground. Hawk manages to land in guard.
Riggins stays in close to Hawk's body and controls the position.

Hawk keeping full guard, as Riggins tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riggins with a flurry of punches that miss.

Hawk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riggins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riggins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Riggins has eaten all the pies!
Hawk looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Hawk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Riggins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Riggins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hawk is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Riggins trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Riggins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hawk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Riggins stopping the sweep attempt from Hawk.
Riggins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Riggins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hawk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Riggins postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Riggins scores with a takedown into Hawk's guard.
Riggins wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.

Riggins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hawk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Riggins has managed to get both his arms back between Hawk's legs - danger averted.
Hawk wants to sweep but no luck.
Hawk has a closed guard, preventing Riggins from standing up.
Rigginsis looking to pass into half guard but Hawk pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hawk is in guard.

Riggins trying to keep a closed guard but Hawk is proving a slippery customer.
Hawk slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hawk tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hawk is breathing heavily.
Hawk is looking to take a break and control but Riggins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Riggins is looking for a sweep.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hawk prevents Riggins from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hawk throws a right and a left that Riggins avoids nicely.

Riggins shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Riggins wants to pass to mount but Hawk is defending the position.
Riggins is thwarting Hawk's attempts to control the position.
Riggins is controlling the pace.
Hawk wants to get back to full guard but Riggins has mounted him!

Riggins is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hawk is surviving well by controlling Riggins's body position as best he can.

Riggins avoids the attempt from Hawk to control.

Riggins is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hawk has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hawk wants to hold on but Riggins pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hawk is desperately trying to improve his position but Riggins has a good base and remains in mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Riggins there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Riggins unloads with some shots from mount but Hawk bucks and avoids them well.
Hawk tries to lock up and control but Riggins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hawk is trying to escape the mount.

Riggins with a couple of short strikes.

Hawk is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hawk is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hawk is squirming around, avoiding Riggins's attempts to control the action.
Hawk wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Riggins.
Hawk regains half guard.

Hawk is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Riggins pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hawk manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hawk throws a right hand that Riggins ducks under and follows up with a left that Riggins also avoids with ease.
A punch combination from Hawk misses.
Hawk tries to bum rush Riggins with a series of wild strikes but Riggins uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Riggins counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Riggins is looking to clinch.

and Riggins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hawk won't be happy with that.
Riggins wants to control but Hawk is keeping him busy.

Riggins decides to stand back up.

Riggins moves out of range of the strikes.
Riggins fails with an attempt to clinch.

Riggins looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Riggins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hawk is proving hard to escape from.

Hawk keeping moving, preventing Riggins from controlling successfully.
Hawk is trying to control the position but Riggins postures up.
Riggins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Riggins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Riggins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawk keeps working.
Riggins taking a break here but Hawk is having none of it and regains half guard.
Riggins wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Hawk uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Hawk lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Riggins!
Riggins is trying desperately to improve position.

Hawk looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Riggins is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

I think Riggins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
