Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Arcanjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Turbo Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arcanjo comes into the arena with Sangue de Bairro by Naçao Zumbi blaring out of the sound system. Jones has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Miguel Arcanjo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Arcanjo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Turbo Jones! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arcanjo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones looks gassed! Arcanjo slips under a jab. Arcanjo tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance. Arcanjo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab. Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Turbo Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arcanjo shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Arcanjo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Arcanjo clinches. Jones managing to block the knees to the body from Arcanjo.
Arcanjo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks. Arcanjo can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arcanjo displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jones up against the cage. Arcanjo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Arcanjo. That's one minute gone in the round. Arcanjo gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Arcanjo misses with a knee strike.
Arcanjo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.
Arcanjo tries to clinch up. Arcanjo moves into the clinch. Arcanjo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Turbo Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Arcanjo drives through with a takedown into guard. Arcanjo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arcanjo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Arcanjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arcanjo sitting in guard here, content to control. Arcanjo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Arcanjo tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arcanjo stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Arcanjo swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Arcanjo gets in close and instigates a clinch. Arcanjo displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jones up against the cage. Jones prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arcanjo taking a breather. Arcanjo tries to land knees in the clinch but Jones avoids the damage to the body. Arcanjo wants a takedown but no success here.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Arcanjo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Miguel Arcanjo. A jab from Arcanjo misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones misses with a hook. Arcanjo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Arcanjo moves into the clinch successfully.

Arcanjo tries to score a body lock takedown but Jones shows good agility there to stay on his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Arcanjo dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Arcanjo slips a jab from Jones. Arcanjo throws a leg kick but Jones checks it. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Arcanjo lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Jones lands with an overhand left. A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target. Arcanjo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Arcanjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Arcanjo controls the pace. Arcanjo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arcanjo stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position. Arcanjo slips nicely into half guard. Arcanjo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arcanjo looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Arcanjo is working for a guillotine from mount but Jones frees his head quite easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Arcanjo has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Arcanjo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arcanjo throws some wild stikes that Jones manages to avoid easily.
Arcanjo throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Arcanjo working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Jones holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Arcanjo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Miguel Arcanjo dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Arcanjo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Arcanjo somewhat. Horrible takedown by Arcanjo or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. A swing and a miss from Arcanjo. Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Nice defenses there by Jones. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Arcanjo has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Arcanjo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Arcanjo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arcanjo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Arcanjo seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Arcanjo thows a body shot but no joy. Arcanjo takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Arcanjo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Arcanjo drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Arcanjo seems to have locked his on tight now - Jones screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Arcanjo, as he picks up the win!
