Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shinzo Akimora!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Akimora to score with a decent uppercut.
Akimora rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phillips moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Akimora misses with a few strikes there.
Phillips throws a push kick but Akimora slaps the foot to one side.
Phillips throws a head kick that misses.
Phillips fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Phillips connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Akimora tumbling to the canvas! Phillips pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Akimora was done - good stoppage!
